The difference between invitations and announcements might seem like a no-brainer but it can get confusing. It seems that most of us tend to use announcement products as invites. There are some simple ways to determine whether or not you need invitations or announcements. Invitations and announcements are important correspondences which people use occasionally. These notes are usually placed on quality stationary or card stock. These trendy items are well-used but are often confused with one another. Following are some of the major differences between the two.
An announcement usually necessitates a response from the person who receives it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received invitations and announcements and
wasn’t sure whether or not a reply was in order. What makes it even more confusing is the wording used in the cards.
So why would you need an announcement? This correspondence doesn’t commonly require a response from the recipient. This is the major difference between invitations and announcements. You want others to know about your special event but you’re not having a ceremony that they can attend.
Announcements are commonly reserved for graduations and births but some choose to use them for weddings also. This is particularly true if the wedding ceremony is very small and the couple can’t invite everyone that they want.
The difference between invitations and announcements are commonly taken for granted. However, it’s important to actually think matters through before sending any correspondence through the mail.
