Your Wedding Veil

When I got married, I did many things the way I wanted. And I found some great info on the internet, and knew where the best bargains could be found, there were just some things that I had my own, unique ideas about. Since I’ve always been of independent spirit, my husband-to-be was not that shocked in the least. I saved a fortune on my wedding gown because I chose one that was a few seasons old, and I considered my guests before myself. I even made my own wedding veil.

After I found a bargain on the wedding dress which I absolutely loved, I had a bit of extra money to spend, but that didn’t mean I was going to spend it. I could have bought a wedding veil that was very nice, but I couldn’t justify spending the money, when I could create my own veil. It did take me a few tries to get it right, but the wedding veil I made was really quite nice, and fit my personality to a tee. I didn’t want something hanging over my face, and that did make things somewhat easier.

I bought a few yards of tulle to make my own veil, and simply used a hair clip to bind it. It took me a few tries to perfect it, but it was a success. No one would recognize that it was homemade, and I could then do what I wanted with it after the wedding. At a local craft store, I found a butterfly that matched the ones on my wedding invitations, and I added that to the bottom of my wedding veil. My friends loved it, and said it looked like a butterfly was following me around all day on my wedding day.

If you want to save money on your own wedding veil, don’t be afraid to reconnect with your creative side and give it a try. Of all the things you may want to have, this is one of the easiest to make, and you can ensure you have what you want when you create yourself. Some people don’t have the time, patience or desire to do this, or they find one in the store that they absolutely fall in love with. That’s ok too. The whole point is to be happy with what you have, and to make your day what you’ve always imagined it to be. Your wedding veil will be more important to you than to anyone else, so be it’s a true
statement of YOU.
